Comcent Review (2026): Voice Infrastructure on Your Own SIP Trunk
Managed voice infrastructure on your own SIP trunk: browser dialers, queues, call recording, AI transcription, and a real-time voice bot — cloud plans or free self-hosted open source
Category: audio · Pricing model: freemium (free self-host) · Official site: comcent.io
What Comcent does
Comcent is a voice-infrastructure platform: browser dialers, call queues, call recording, AI transcription, and a real-time voice bot — either hosted and managed on Comcent Cloud or self-hosted for free on the open-source Community Edition (AGPL-3.0). You bring your own carrier or SIP trunk (Twilio, Telnyx, and others), and Comcent charges no per-minute talk fee on calls — you pay for the infrastructure and for optional AI minutes. Unlimited seats are included in every plan, and self-hosting takes about 30 seconds to install on any Linux box with a public IP (a $12/month VPS is enough).
Who it’s for
Support and sales teams that need phone features (dialer, queues, recordings, transcripts) without building telephony; agencies and SaaS products that embed a phone widget into a CRM; and engineering teams that would rather run the whole stack themselves. It is not a voice-synthesis tool — for generating speech, a TTS platform is the right fit.
Key features
- Browser dialer and embeddable widget (CRM integration)
- Dynamic call-flow charts for visual routing
- Call queues and recording (retention varies by plan)
- AI transcription and “AI Insights” (per-minute, toggle on)
- “Transfer intelligence (live)” for live call transfer logic
- Real-time voice bot
- BYO carrier or SIP trunk; unlimited seats on every plan
- Comcent Cloud (managed) or Community Edition (free, AGPL-3.0)
- Prepaid-wallet billing; USD, with INR via Razorpay in India
How to use Comcent
- Sign up at comcent.io (cloud) or self-host the Community Edition with its one-command Docker installer.
- Connect your SIP trunk or carrier.
- Configure dialers, queues, and call flows.
- Turn on AI transcription/Insights for the calls you want analyzed.
- Embed the widget in your app or CRM where needed.
Limitations
- Concurrent-call caps per plan (5/20/50); extra concurrency costs $3–5/month each.
- Recording retention varies by plan (30 days / 1 year / 3 years).
- AI minutes are metered beyond included allotments ($0.012–0.020/min depending on plan).
- Self-hosting is your ops burden (Linux, Docker, ports, TLS).
- Prepaid wallet: payments are non-refundable, and carrier minutes are paid to your own carrier.

Alternatives
- ElevenLabs — voice synthesis and cloning (TTS), not telephony.
- Otter.ai — meeting transcription without phone infrastructure.
- Synthesia — AI avatar videos, a different use case.
